First Blog
11:43 AM on Dec. 19, 2007

This is the first blog to be published at creativeiworld. It's a great opportunity to communicate what my motives are for developing this site, and what my hopes are for its future success.

I have sought to encourage and support creativity for many years through my work in real-world projects, and with creativeiworld's sister site AbleStable. As I state at AbleStable, my profound conviction is that exploring our creativity is the world's best hope for peace, cooperation, and constructive communication. Creativity is also a major force in contributing to happiness.

AbleStable has grown to become a very broad site offering hundreds of resources that aim to stimulate creativity. I also publish my column each month at AbleStable. I seriously considered launching a social network at AbleStable, however after much thought I came to realize creating a new site would make a lot much more sense.

creativeiworld allows anyone the opportunity to publish and share their original work. It is distinct from AbleStable's Directory which provides a listing of creative professionals. In contrast, those at creativeiworld are not seeking commissions nor selling their creative services - creativeiworld is a non-commerial context and is open to anyone who wishes to join. Its only restriction is that all material must be suitable for a general audience. The cost of hosting and developing AbleStable and creativeiworld are met by myself and provided freely to the Internet community. This is my passion and long term public commitment.

In the future I will be extending creativeiworld. The next step will be to curate online exhibitions that will feature content from its members. Looking further forward I will then take these exhibitions into the real world through a series of instillations in towns and cities across the globe, for only through connecting can we understand the world of others.
